How you can use Analytics to quickly identify your self-employed customers

AFG 20 May 2025 9:14:49 AM

There are a number of ways brokers can take advantage of Analytics to understand more about their client base and maximise their book. A prime example of this is within the All Contacts report.

All contacts is readily available to all users and can be a useful starting point for simple profiling of your customer base. For example, generating a list of self-employed contacts may provide a diversification opportunity as they may be interested in commercial and asset finance opportunities – either direct or through Partner Connect.

See the simple step-by-step guide below to get you started today!

1. Navigate to 'All Contacts' from the Analytics homepage

You may notice that less than 8 reports appear when you arrive at the Analytics homepage. Report access is based on your FLEX responsibilities, access takes into consideration things such as your status of Master Agent or Loan Writer, Commission Views and SMART membership. It is the combination of these responsibilities that will provide you with specific reports.

The All Contacts is available to all users.

2. Generate a list of self-employed customers by using the 'Self-employed' filter and selecting 'True'

The All Contacts report brings together all your contacts in Flex, offering an overview that’s as versatile as it is comprehensive. This report is particularly helpful when it comes to maintaining the accuracy of your contact database and exploring diversification opportunities within your existing client base.

3. Data can be used in the report, or it can be exported to Excel or CSV

After identifying who your self-employed customers are, you can use the data straight from the All Contacts report or export the information to Excel or CSV.
