Have you received an unsolicited trail book offer?

Some of our members have received contact from individuals purporting to offer trail books for sale. In the past, there have been instances where these books have been offered for sale where either they do not exist or the owner has no intention to sell. 

If you are approached about potential trail book purchasing opportunities, please exercise a high degree of caution. The ACCC has previously reported that investment scams in 2021 resulted in $177M in losses. 

Some dos and don’ts of buying trail books:

• Do thorough due diligence on the vendor’s agent, and vendor and independently verify any information provided. 
• Do read the ACCC’s Targeting Scams Report for more information. 
• Do contact your Partnership Manager or AFG Risk and Compliance if you have any queries or concerns.  
• Do not pay a deposit until there is a valid contract in place and due diligence has been completed.
