Compare and Connect - Comparison email templates

Some of your best referral opportunities are already in your database, the hard part is knowing when to raise them, and what to say.

We've prepared two ready-to-use email templates to take the guesswork out of it. Each gives you suggested wording so you can start the Compare conversation with new and existing clients without second-guessing the timing or the message.

How to use these templates

We’ve created two templates for Compare and Connect, focusing on the Compare referral (one with electricity comparison, one without). Send the template to your clients through your usual email platform. Before you send, add your unique Compare referral link in the dedicated space within the template, so the referral tracks back to you.

You can find your unique Compare URL within the confirmation email sent through to you from Compare and Connect when registering with the subject ‘Your Compare & Connect Login Is Ready’.

Or, through your Compare and Connect dashboard (under ‘Bill upload’, pictured below).

Make the most of your Compare conversations

Comparison conversations are a chance to add value across your whole client base, not just new customers. Use these templates:

• When a client is refinancing, fold Compare into that conversation.

• At annual review time, mid-year is a natural prompt, when energy prices typically reset. This can be offered across your existing clients.

• During a new loan application, as part of your referral offering process, on submission or at unconditional approval.

• Add your Compare referral link to your email signature so it's always in front of clients.

• Mention it verbally at the loan wrap-up — a quick "we can also help you compare your energy, internet and insurance" plants the seed.

• Add referral triggers to your BrokerEngine Plus checklist.

• Build it into your standard application aftercare sequence.

Tips on Compliance

Before sending these emails, you should:

• Referral Disclosure
  • Ensure clients are informed if you may receive a commission, referral fee or other benefit if they choose to use Compare and Connect following your referral. This can be achieved by using the standard email templates or disclosing this in the Credit Proposal document where you intend to refer them at the time of providing credit assistance.

• Credit Guide Consistency

  • Partner Connect automatically adds each partner's remuneration disclosure to your Credit Guide once you unlock that partner in Suite360 — note each partner must be unlocked separately. For more information, visit Commission disclosures in Partner Connect – Help.

• No Financial or Utility Advice
  • Do not represent that a particular energy provider, utility plan or service is the best option for the client.
  • The referral is intended to provide clients with an opportunity to compare available offers only.
  • By using the suggested templates you will ensure that financial or utility advice is not provided.
• Accurate and Balanced Representations
  • Avoid statements that suggest savings are guaranteed.
  • Where benefits are described, ensure they are qualified appropriately (for example, "may save money" or "could result in savings depending on your circumstances").

• Privacy and Client Information
  • Obtain any required client consent before sharing personal information with Compare and Connect.
  • Ensure any collection, use or disclosure of personal information complies with your privacy obligations and privacy policy.
